Mumbai – Global Sports Partners (GSP) congratulates the youth teams and coaches of Stadio Football Academy for their impressive performance in the Leno Premier League tournament. They showcased their skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and commitment throughout the competition. Three teams competed in different age groups over the course of the three‑month tournament, with the youth team falling just short of the championship and finishing as runner-up.
There were many highlights from the tournament, but one standout moment occurred when the team had only six players available for a 7v7 match. This disadvantage didn’t dampen the team’s spirit; instead, it ignited a fierce determination that led to one of their best matches of the entire tournament. They rallied together, refused to give up, and played with unwavering intensity in the scorching heat of Mumbai. Their efforts paid off, resulting in a hard-fought draw—a significant achievement. This crucial point propelled the team to the final. The players’ relentless effort and determination in every match were rewarded with well-deserved success. While the players are talented, they are still growing in playing with the Argentinian spark, intensity, and camaraderie. However, with the guidance of coaches Bhavesh and Joel, they were able to overcome the challenges they faced.
The culture and vision of Stadio Football Academy are reflected not only in match results, but also in the character development of its players. Stadio strives to build both players and people. Through training, competition, and mentorship, the coaches create an environment where young athletes can grow in skill, character, and love for the game. The focus of Stadio’s coaches is not simply developing skilled players; they aim to create a close-knit group of friends who are willing to fight for one another. Team building plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal.
“Success for us is not just winning games, it’s seeing players grow, enjoy the game, and become part of something bigger than themselves. Our goal as coaches is to unlock the potential of each of our players, creating leaders inside and outside the field.” Stadio Director and GSP representative Joel Ballejos
The team’s character was further displayed during a particular match after conceding a goal. Instead of dropping their heads or blaming one another, they came together, encouraged each other, and responded with intensity. Their reaction clearly illustrated the key characteristics the coaches are instilling; resilience, connection, and a team-first mentality.
“My child has grown not just as a player, but as a person. He’s more confident, disciplined, and truly loves the game now. He has a real passion for football.”
The coaching staff, supportive parents, and tournament organizers all played key roles in delivering a successful tournament. Players and parents remained committed to training amid a busy season, while the coaches gave their best effort in every practice and match.
Looking ahead, Stadio will continue to grow players through regular training and competitive opportunities. Elite batches will be developed to support higher-performance teams, and plans are in place to expand the program by investing in leadership development and creating more pathways to positively impact young players both on and off the field.
